On the off-boarding dashboard for your team members, you have the option to Undo Termination or Re-hire an off-boarded team member.  Follow the guide below to select the right option.

First, use the off-boarding progress guide here to help you understand where you are in the process and make informed decisions. You'll make your decision based on this off-boarding progress guide.

A. From the left-hand menu, select Employees.

B. Click on the Team dropdown menu.

C. Select Offboarding.

D. Click the Ellipses of the employee you’d like to re-hire or undo termination.

E. Choose the specific member you want to re-hire, select Re-Hire or Undo Termination.

Re-hire:
Re-hiring if you have issued an ROE.
When you rehire a team member, their Employment Insurance (EI) record starts fresh, but their Year-to-Date (YTD) information remains if a Record of Employment (ROE) was previously submitted. If the off-boarding progress indicator is green, it's probable that the ROE was submitted. Rehiring wipes out previous ROEs. Avoid rehiring for pay reversals; instead, undo termination, reverse pay, then proceed with off-boarding again. If needed, you can manually adjust ROE data on Service Canada's website.

Undo Termination
Undo Termination if you have not issued an ROE.
Undoing termination returns the employee to the active team dashboard as if they were never terminated. Use this if you haven't submitted an ROE and need to complete final payments, EI data and YTD remain unchanged.

Note: if you've issued an ROE, manual changes may be necessary. Also, be aware that undoing termination deletes Offboarding Assistant records; download PDFs before proceeding. If you redo termination with the same details, charges may apply for rerunning the Assistant.
